Description
POTASSIUM CHLORIDE DMC has the chemical formula of KCl. Molecular weight 74.55.
K⁺ 52.44%.   Cl^- 47.56%.
 
Application
POTASSIUM CHLORIDE DMC is used to provide potassium ions for the inhibition of hydratable clays. It is used as the primary inhibitor to KCl-Polymer fluid to provide high level of stability when drilling trouble some formations with reactive shales.

Recommended Treatment
POTASSIUM CHLORIDE DMC is added in concentration of 10 to 60 ppb to achieve optimum inhibiting effect. The concentration should be determined by the formations to be drilled.
 
Environmental and Safety Handling Recommendations
Utilize normal precautions for employee protection when handling chemical products. Use of appropriate respirator, gloves, goggles and apron is recommended for employee comfort and protection.
POTASSIUM CHLORIDE DMC is non - toxic and is considered to be harmless in the marine ecosystem.
