DMC: 27 years of building and developing

On 8^th March 2017, Drilling Mud Corporation celebrated its 27^th anniversary and International Women’s Day. At the ceremony, all the officials and employees of DMC reviewed together 27 years of building and developing of DMC.

The process of building and developing
At the beginning period of establishment, facing up with a lot of difficulties in facilities and human resources, having just 63 handover personnel, almost no management staffs and specialized technical staffs (Scientific and technical forces were mainly transferred from Cement Drilling Fluids Department – Vietnam Petroleum Institute), DMC mostly had no products and petroleum markets as well as products and technical services on the field of petroleum drilling fluids.
Besides, encountering market mechanism, changing the mind and working habits for decades are not simple tasks. However, the Executive Board of DMC has been well aware that: To develop effectively and sustainably, DMC has to develop simultaneously three areas: manufacture, business and service; in which technical service is considered as the core service and while drilling fluids service is considered as the foundation for the development of DMC in the next period.

Currently, DMC has included 5 member units and 4 branches operating on the fields related to petroleum exploitation industry in Vietnam. From the manufacture of drilling fluids chemicals, technical services to transportation, environmental treatment services at oil refinery plants, drilling rigs, etc, each member unit and branch have completed excellently its functions, duties. Each member unit has not only offered good services for both domestic and foreign partners but also promoted actively internal resources, expanded manufactured goods, meeting the demands of materials for other industries.

In 2017, DMC has setthe goal that production output will reach 25,000 tons; the total revenue will be 2,660 billion VND and the amount paid for the State budget will be 116.3 billion VND. The Corporation will continue to expand the market, barite export; develop and complete new products/ services which can be applied into practice (OWC cement, Protrol fluid system); promote scientific research activities, strengthen the cooperation with Vietnam Petroleum Institute and other agencies to develop new product lines, research and apply alternative chemicals in copyright drilling fluids system of DMC. The Corporation will focus on implementing solutions to managing manufacture, deploying the search for new material mines, ensuring stable material resource serving for production; maximizing production capacity, studying new product lines which will bring high economic efficiency (CaCO3, petroleum catalysts, CA/EDC/VCM, etc).

In the service field, DMC will ensure to maintain 100% of domestic drilling fluids service market with high quality and competitive price. DMC will also continue to develop its market share and improve the quality of supplying industrial services: cleaning, environmental treatment, anti – corrosion services for petroleum industry and other industries. Moreover, DMC will research, apply research achievements on alternative chemicals, drilling fluids system in order to gradually replace fluid systems in use; complete the study of synthetic-based drilling muds (SBM); cooperating with domestic and foreign partners with the aim of promoting its advantages and acquiring the partners’ technology to implement projects on water and environmental treatment.
In terms of developing strategy, DMC has oriented to become a professional technical service company, proceeding to supplying service for foreign countries; in which the focus for development has been service fields requiring high, in-depth and chemical-based technology. The Corporation has also oriented to become a prestigious company in Vietnam and the world on supplying chemicals and distributing petrochemical products; focused on researching and investing in projects related to fundamental chemicals production, chemicals, catalysts for the nextstages on a large scale.

Launch the movement “DMC’s ideas”
With the purpose of promoting creative movements which are helpful for the development of DMC, atthe ceremony, the Union of DMC has launched a movement called “DMC’s ideas”. Accordingly, each staff of DMC will join hands to create ideas and solutions helping DMC improve service and product quality; save the money and the managing efficiency in manufacture and business; new services/ products; apply science and technology into the development of service, production and unit management.

Enjoying the joyful atmosphere atthe ceremony, besides beautiful flowers, the Union cooperated with the Office of Corporation to organize DMC-Next Top IDOL, a surprise gift for beautiful women on this year’s International Women Day. The contest gathered representatives of Departments/ Offices of DMC with 3 rounds: Costumes, talent and interview. Teams broughtto the contest a lot of surprise performance, creating exciting, young atmosphere which promoted energy for all the staffs of DMC.
