DMC has implemented to develop KPI

Since the late 2016, after researching and discussing with consulting units, DMC has cooperated with Vietez Consultancy Joint Stock Company to build the KPIs system for staffs of all Departments/ Offices. After implementing the second period “Building the library of evaluation indexes”, it is expected that in the third quarter of 2017, DMC will apply a testing program for the holding company first. After the period of three to six months operating, testing and completing, this system will be launched synchronously for the whole DMC. 

Human resources management plays an important role in every activities of an organization, especially in recent competitive phase. Managing and evaluating properly the performance of a worker has become one of the key elements for the general efficiency of a company. Evaluating properly, fairly employees’ performance and capacity of implementing tasks has become an useful tool for a corporation to well implement relevant human resource policies as well as create motivation to encourage staffs to increase their self-control, responsibility and productivity contributing to improving the general result of the whole company.
Being aware of the role of human resources in organization’s activities as well as the aim, meaning of a work evaluation tool, in the past few years, DMC has applied the management and evaluation of employees’ working efficiency according to the A-B-C evaluating method quarterly. Nevertheless, the evaluation has not broughtthe efficiency as expected and not promoted the role of creating motivation for staffs because the evaluating method has been still conceptual and the majority of staffs have not been aware of the importance of the evaluating tool; the contents of evaluating criteria have not been quantified specifically and still been applied generally for almost all positions. Having been aware of limitations of the current evaluation, since 2015, the Management Board of DMC has decided and determined to renew comprehensively the evaluating tool, replace the traditional method with many limitations by a progressive method that successful companies in the world and in Vietnam have applied – Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). This method is considered as a breakthrough, a renovation in management of the Management Board of DMC.

In fact, it is undoubtedthatthere are many corporations in Vietnam along with some units in the petroleum industry that have failed to apply KPI or had unexpected results. However, this method is one of advanced managementtools that can help DMC overcome drawbacks of current evaluating tool and method as well as connect each individual’s work with organization’s goals and missions, motivate staffs to enhancing their responsibilities of improving abilities, skills and so on building for DMC a professional, high quality workforce.
The aim of DMC when apply the method of managing and evaluating employees’ performances:
 
+ Building a system of managing and measuring the productivity related to the goals of manufacture and business and key missions in accordance with developing strategy of Company;
+ Managing the productivity and developing the capacity of human resources;
+ Building suitable evaluating criteria for each position;
+ Ensuring thatthe evaluating process will be simple, scientific, convenient, quick and proper;
+ Having an easily applicable and efficient set of evaluating criteria;
+ Creating motivation via the connection with compensation and human resources policies in accordance with each suitable strategy for the current condition of the company.
